After training our own horses for nine years and taking in over 60 outside horses in the past four years, Sean and I have decided to make it official!
We’d like to introduce you to Bailey Barrel Horses and Colt Starting.
This business will allow us to offer our passions for starting colts and training barrel horses, to the public.
Sean and I believe in training each horse as an individual, and working at a pace that gives them confidence and the greatest chance for success. All of our horses are ridden in the mountains, arenas, pastures, and around cattle.

Briana’s Experience
Briana started riding hunter jumper as a child but soon transitioned to speed events. In the past, she’s worked with a professional cutting and reined cow horse trainer as well as top barrel horse trainers by way of clinics and private sessions. She started both of her pro rodeo horses on the pattern herself and is currently training her pink buckle prospects for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Briana filled her WPRA permit with just two barrel runs and has been pro rodeoing for 2 years.
Her and Sean have a lot of experience with colts and starting prospects from scratch whether they’re on the barrel track or just need a solid foundation to build on. They ride their horses out on the trails, in the pastures, in the arena and haul them to see the sights. Briana’s biggest goal is to meet each horse where they’re at and help them be the best that they can be.
Sean’s Experience
Sean’s colt starting experience started under reined cow horse trainer, Any Kurtz of Kurtz Performance Horses. He’s started cutting prospects, reined cow horse prospects, barrel prospects, ranch prospects, and pleasure horses. Since he believes in covering horsemanship fundamentals before any discipline specific training, all of the colts he starts get the same foundation. He rides them in all situations to build their confidence and experience.
Sean is also great at helping horses work through problems and issues they may be having with their riders. Briana and Sean will partner with your horse to get them back on track. The second step to that process is bringing you back into the equation so that you and your horse can get back on the same page.
